Justuptime Let’s You Know When Your Site Is Down Before Your Users Do
Nothing is more embarrassing then getting that call from your customer and having them tell you your site is down. It’s even worse when that’s how you find out about it.
Today, I came across a company called Justuptime and they provide website and server monitoring and alerts at a very reasonable price with no installation required on your part.
Justuptime checks for the following:
- HTTP/HTTPS checks
- Ping checks
- TCP/UDP checks
- DNS checks
- POP3/IMAP/SMTP checks
You can set these checks to run anytime from between one to sixty minutes. For those that aren’t that techy, these checks will uncover any issues with connecting to your site.
Based on those checks, they send e-mail and SMS notifications with status or any issues. With these options, you should be covered for knowing of any issues with your site immediately no matter where you are.
In addition to the notifications, you can also go to their site and view reports on your site’s uptime, response time, and a detailed error log.
If your business web site is hosted, chances are that they offer the reports mentioned above. So why would you need Justuptime if your hosting provider offers these reports? If you’re a small business wearing multiple hats, you may want the checks and notifications because 90% of the time you’re running around doing other things and rarely checking on your site. You can also use it as a second validation to compare to our host’s reports.
Either way, I thought this was a pretty cool product for those concerned about site uptime.
